As Secwépemc, we are the Yucwmenlúcwu of all relations within Secwépemcúlecw and are responsible to plan for, and protect, all of tmicw within our respective Caretaker Areas for those faces yet to come.
We frequently meet to collaborate on initiatives, projects, and resource-related decisions which may impact the health and integrity of tmicw, our land use, and our stewardship of those lands and resources, within the Columbia River Basin.
Guided by our stewardship practices and Secwépemc laws, rules, social structures, stories, and language, we work to plan for a balanced and prosperous way of life seven generations ahead. Our way of life and interconnection with our Caretaker Areas are closely tied to Secwépemc ways of knowing, our seasonal round, language, and values. All beings, both living and non-moving, are connected and thrive based on the respect and care they receive from each other.
